Independent Rowers

Welcome to the Minnesota Boat Club!

I hope you had a wonderful winter session and am thrilled you have decided to join Minnesota Boat Club in 2018. Please use this page to coordinate for practices and races. Explore the small boat sign up page as the season continues for opportunities to row outside of program times with novice or more-experienced rowers. This will become a big part of the club experience by late summer, early fall as novices develop their skills further. If you have any questions pertaining to the club or membership, please don't hesitate to contact me.

The Independent Rowers group is intended for those individuals that want to row on their own. There is a requirement of all members to be bow certified by the Director via the written bow test and on-water practical. This is new in 2018 and there will be no grandfathering of rowers to the bow list. If you have not been cleared, then you cannot take out a club single or bow a boat for rowing. Those not cleared may still row in non-bow seats.

Boats may not be reserved during any scheduled program. Launching by independents or any member not in the scheduled program in club equipment can happen only after a scheduled program has begun and the desired equipment is not being used. Launching before a program may occur only if all club equipment is returned to the club before the program is scheduled. Do not contact coaches to request to reserve equipment during their session. Requests may be sent in advance to the Director only.

Let's all row.

Please note scheduled practice times when equipment may or may not be available. This includes club sweep and sculling oars.
